Walking

Move More with Bands
Two resources developed to support people with resistance exercises to boost strength and wellbeing. The seated version is beneficial for new starters or anyone feeling more comfortable moving within the chair and the standing version acts as a great progression. Both programmes encourage movements targeting all areas of the body with the standing resource building in balance and stability exercises which are important for protecting future health and preventing falls. Love To Pedal
A chair cycling programme enabling people to cycle whilst riding along to filmed bike rides of Somerset, or favourite TV programmes! Pedals are available for use at home or in small community group settings. Click here to find out more details

Somerset Physical Activity on Referral Scheme
ProActive is the name for the Physical Activity on Referral scheme in Somerset. The scheme helps people living with health conditions to become more active in a safe and structured environment.
Through the ProActive Physical Activity on Referral Scheme, Somerset residents living with health conditions will be given the opportunity to improve their overall health and more specifically, be provided with strategies to manage or improve symptoms as well as achieve specific rehabilitation goals. ProActive uses targeted exercises prescribed by highly qualified Exercise on Referral fitness professionals to help participants achieve this.

The Beach Wellness Physical Activity on Referral Scheme
The Beach Wellness in Minehead, West Somerset, offers clean facilities and professional expert health advice, for all ages and abilities.
We first opened in 2016 in partnership with YMCA at The Beach Hotel, with the aim of encouraging activity in adults of all ages across Minehead and West Somerset.
