Women’s Wellness

Regular movement supports women’s health at every stage of life. It can reduce the risk of long-term conditions such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and some cancers, and can help manage symptoms if you already live with them. Just as importantly, being active can help you feel stronger, more confident and more like yourself.

Health and Wellbeing Support

The SASP Health and Wellbeing Coaching service, in partnership with primary care networks, supports people with long term conditions to access physical activity to promote and protect their health. If you are living with a long term health condition, or are ready to take control of your health, our team of Health and Wellbeing Coaches can support you to make positive and sustainable changes to your lifestyle.

Being more active can help by:

  • Boosting confidence and mood: Activity supports mental wellbeing by building confidence and improving self-esteem. Many women also find that moving with others brings enjoyment, motivation and a sense of connection.
  • Helping you feel and sleep better: Regular movement can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve energy levels and support better sleep. Even short sessions can make a difference to how you feel that day.
  • Keeping your body strong and comfortable: Gentle activity helps keep joints moving well and muscles strong, which supports your bones and reduces the risk of injury. Strength and mobility can make everyday tasks feel easier and more comfortable.
  • Supporting natural pain relief and wellbeing: When movement becomes part of your routine, your body responds better to its natural pain-relief systems. Many women notice a “feel-good” boost after activity that helps them cope better with daily demands.
  • Supporting hormonal health: Regular activity can help regulate hormones and reduce symptoms linked to menopause and midlife changes, supporting both physical comfort and emotional wellbeing.

Evidence shows that women who are more active often feel happier, more confident and better able to handle everyday challenges. Physical activity is about feeling good, feeling capable and feeling connected.
