With recent government advice and instruction regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), people now themselves staying at home. It's important that we take care of our physical and mental wellbeing during these times, and despite the fact that we may be stuck indoors, physical activity is still one of the best ways of doing this. There's plenty you can do at home to keep active - here are some ideas that can get you moving!

We're all now spending a lot more time at home than we might like, which is why staying as physically active as possible is more important than ever.

Join the Movement is Sport England's brand-new campaign, funded by The National Lottery, giving you the advice and tools you need to help you do this while the country deals with the coronavirus outbreak.

Official advice is to stay at home, and to only go outside for one form of exercise a day, to shop for basic necessities, if there's a medical reason and travelling to and from essential work.

This inevitably means all our routines are changing.

Join the Movement also has its own online hub, giving access to a range of home workout options – including existing free exercise content and advice from organisations such as the NHS. There's also the latest advice around getting outside, with tools to help you make the most out of the fresh air during your daily walk, run or cycle.

  • NHS Coronavirus Guidelines - This page provides general advice from the NHS on everything, including spotting the symptoms, deciding to self-isolate, treatment information and more.
  • How To Wash Your Hands - The NHS have provided guidelines on how to wash your hands and advice on how often you should do it.
  • Sport England News - Sport England have released news articles and blogs talking about general Coronavirus updates and tips on how to stay active.
