Community Resilience Young People Mentor

Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) is looking for a Mentor to join our Community Resilience Team, working alongside children and young people aged 8–25. At the heart of this role is relationship. Our mentors work alongside children and young people who may be experiencing challenges in their lives, at home, in education or within their community. Some may be struggling to engage with school, experiencing poor mental health or wellbeing, finding it difficult to regulate, or simply need a trusted adult who has the time to listen, stay curious and understand what might be going on beneath the surface. We use movement, sport and physical activity as a way to connect, but we know it isn't always the way in. Sometimes it starts with a walk, a coffee, kicking a ball around, sitting alongside someone or simply showing up consistently until trust begins to grow. Our approach is young person-centred, relational and trauma-informed. We focus on strengths and possibility, creating safe and supportive spaces where young people can build trusted relationships, develop confidence and a stronger sense of themselves, experience belonging and begin to take the small steps that matter to them. Our Community Resilience Team works across a range of programmes including Jump Start, Jump & Thrive, We’ve Got This and Day by Day.

M2I Activator (West Somerset & Sedgemoor)

We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals to join our Move 2 Independence (M2I) service, helping people rebuild their strength, confidence, and independence after a hospital stay. This is a rewarding role where you will see the direct impact of your work, supporting people to stay active, live well, and remain independent at home.

Project Manager (Neighbourhood Health & Coastal Communities)

(Neighbourhood Health and Coastal Communities). This role is available full time, but part time would also be considered at approximately 30 hours over 4 days. This is an exciting opportunity to lead innovative, place-based work that integrates physical activity into health and care across Somerset's coastal communities. Working at the heart of neighbourhood health, you will develop and strengthen partnerships across the NHS, primary care, local government, voluntary and community organisations to create more connected, community-centred approaches to supporting adults with long-term health conditions. You will lead projects that embed physical activity within health and care pathways, champion prevention and self-management, and help shape sustainable models of care that reduce health inequalities, particularly within rural and coastal communities. Managing a small team and working collaboratively across organisational boundaries, you will drive system change, support falls prevention and musculoskeletal health initiatives, and ensure learning and evidence inform future development. This is a unique opportunity to influence how health, care and community services work together to improve the health and wellbeing of Somerset residents.
