We’ve Got This

What is it?

We’ve Got This is a peer‑mentor support project designed to help you feel understood, more confident, and more positive about yourself and what’s ahead.
You’ll be matched with a peer mentor who is someone with their own lived experience and may understand what you might be going through. Together, you’ll connect in relaxed, supportive environments where you can talk, try new things, and grow your confidence over time.
Our support is flexible, personal, and focused on what feels most helpful for you.

Who is it for?

We support young people aged 16 to 18 who:

  • Are currently waiting for CAMHS support, or
  • Have been told they don’t meet the CAMHS threshold for support
  • Feel they would benefit from one‑to‑one peer mentor support while waiting or finding other routes forward.

How do I access support?

Nominations into We’ve Got This are made through CAMHS.
If you think this support would be helpful for you, speak to your CAMHS worker about being nominated.

How can a peer mentor support me?

Your peer mentor can support you to:

  • Talk about what’s been going on for you without judgement
  • Feel understood, listened to, and less alone
  • Explore ideas and strategies that others have found helpful
  • Build confidence, self‑esteem, and belief in yourself
  • Recognise and value your strengths
  • Connect with other people, activities, and communities
  • Feel more hopeful about the future

Our mentors use their own lived experience to offer authentic, relatable support. Wherever possible, we’ll match you with someone who shares similar interests to you.
