Work Experience Opportunities

SASP supports work experience placements but can only offer a limited number each year. Placements are not guaranteed and depend on staff capacity and our ability to provide a meaningful and engaging experience.

We welcome applications from students in Secondary, Further and Higher Education. If you are no longer in education but are interested in a placement, please contact the Workforce Manager directly.

Before applying, we encourage you to explore our website to learn more about what we do and decide whether a placement with SASP is right for you.

Work experience can play an important role in building a career. It can help strengthen applications for courses, training and jobs, and allows you to develop valuable skills. If you already know the career you want to pursue, choosing a placement that supports that goal can be particularly helpful.

If you are unsure about your future career, or cannot secure your preferred placement, remember that any work experience is valuable. Every opportunity helps you learn more about yourself, develop new skills and understand working life. It may also lead to further opportunities with the same organisation or prepare you for a role that better suits your interests.

The application window is open from September to October for placements taking place the following March and July. Applications will be reviewed during the first two weeks of November, and we may contact students for a short phone call or informal conversation if further information is needed. Applicants will be notified of the outcome before the end of November so there is still time to secure another placement if required.

If your placement dates fall outside the March to July period, please contact the Workforce Manager directly. Please note that you will need to arrange your own travel to and from the placement. Our head office is in Wellington, Somerset, but our work takes place across the county. For more information please call 01823 653990.
