Holiday Activities & Food Programme - For Providers & Schools

During the Winter, Easter and Summer school holidays, SASP and Somerset Council join forces to deliver fun, enriching activities along with healthy food, under the name 'Happy Healthy Holidays Somerset'.

HHHS provides funding to enable local groups to deliver a variety of holiday activities including food to children eligible for benefits-related free school meals across Somerset.

In June 2022, Minister Will Quince wrote to all schools explaining the importance of the Holiday Activity and Food programme, and how schools can support children and families to get involved and access opportunities.

Summer Provision 2026

We intend to fund 2400 places across Somerset in the Winter 2026 programme.

The winter delivery period is across 2 weeks as follows:

Week 1: Monday 21st December - Wednesday 23rd December 2026
Week 2: Tuesday 29th December - Thursday 31st December 2026

I am also running some drop in sessions where we will discuss the application process and any potential plans providers may have.
HHH Winter 2026 funding application drop in sessions

There will be drop in sessions on:

Monday 28th September at 6 - 6.30pm
Tuesday 29th September at 10 - 10.30am
Thursday 8th October 6 - 6.30pm
Friday 9th October 10 - 10.30am.
