Moving Medicine - Want to know how physical activity can help in a number of conditions?
Moving Medicine is an initiative by the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine in partnership with Public Health England and Sport England. They have developed an online resource for clinicians, hospitals and patients to spread the word about the remarkably positive effects that just a little bit of movement can have on the symptoms of many common diseases.
Active Practice Charter - New toolkit aims to help GPs encourage physical activity
This toolkit has been designed by the RCGPs in partnership with Sport England, to be used by primary care professionals in the UK. Any health professional concerned about their own activity levels may find the toolkit useful. The toolkit is designed to have something for all clinicians. Clinical Champions - Free Training for Healthcare Professionals
22,000 practicing healthcare professionals have received practical training on physical activity and how to incorporate this advice in practice. Sport England and PHE have trained and supported a national network of over 35 healthcare professionals acting as clinical physical activity champions.

Diabetes UK Physical Activity Booklet (PDF, 6.5 Mb)
Diabetes UK have recently produced in collaboration with Sport England aimed at people that work in physical activity, health and fitness e.g. exercise referral leads, instructors, local support groups. It is not for people with diabetes but for those supporting them.
This booklet aims to:
1. Raise awareness of the issues people living with diabetes have with physical exercise.
2. Encourage everyone who can make a difference to help people with diabetes become more active.
Hard copies are available free of charge in boxes of 110 if anyone would like them. If so, please contact the Diabetes UK South West office on south.west@diabetes.org.uk
ESCAPE-Pain - Enabling Self-management and Coping with Arthritic Pain using Exercise
ESCAPE-pain is a rehabilitation programme for people with chronic joint pain of the knees and/or hips, that integrates educational self-management and coping strategies with an exercise regimen individualised for each participant. It helps people understand their condition, teaches them simple things they can help themselves with, and takes them through a progressive exercise programme so they learn how to cope with pain better.
