Skipping Challenges for Secondary Students
Posted: Fri, 05 Feb 2021 09:50
As part of the support SASP are providing to schools through lockdown 3.0, our school games programme brings the latest virtual challenge to secondary schools - skipping. SASP have partnered with Dan The Skipping Man and there are different challenges and levels for primary and secondary aged children.
With a focus on the older age group, secondary schools who have signed up are receiving packs of 30 skipping ropes and student resource cards. The ropes will also be given to targeted students at home and/or key worker students in school. This is a much needed resource to try and engage this secondary age group in physical activity. It is also great to hear that some schools, for example, Brymore in Sedgemoor, have extended this offer and purchased additional ropes to cater for all it's year 9 boys.
All information and progressive challenges can be found on the challenges website - so easily accessible for those in school and those at home.
We have the second series of skipping challenges for primary and secondary going on to the www.saspchallenges.co.uk website next week to keep young people challenged and engaged in the coming weeks - these will be progressive tricks and skills produced by Dan the Skipping Man.
