Love To Pedal Launches At Home Offer

Love to Pedal is a chair based virtual cycling opportunity that was successfully launched in care and residential settings across Somerset in late 2020 in response to Covid 19 and will now soon be available for individuals at home. Love to Pedal has been developed by SASP and funded through Sports England's Tackling Inequalities fund. The project offers a virtual cycling programme which includes sets of pedals and virtual cycle rides for residents to pedal along to using their feet or hands to turn the pedals. The videos transport participants to beautiful cycle routes across Somerset, plus parks and green spaces in the safety and comfort of their home.

If you, an elderly relative or neighbour or someone you work with is struggling to keep active at home then a pedal exerciser and some locally filmed bike rides may just be the answer. Chair based cycling is accessible for so many but will particularly benefit the elderly and those with long term health conditions who may have reduced fitness as a result of shielding. The filmed rides can be supplied on a DVD or can be found on the SASP Love to Pedal web page for those online.

We have a limited supply of pedals available, so to register an interest, please visit the Love to Pedal web page and complete the enquiry form. Alternatively please call SASP on 07458304294 and leave a message with your name and contact number and someone will get back to you.
