Active At Home Packs Update

SASP have distributed 1700 Active at Home packs for older people across Somerset. The packs have been distributed through our fantastic partners including; community Covid-19 support groups, housing associations, healthcare teams and local charities, among others.

We have now RUN OUT - but we're in the process of making the packs even better and plan on producing more in the near future.

We've received some really positive feedback…

- I am an older lady with disabilities, and also have a disabled daughter living with me. Who are in house for next 3+months. We would both like your exercise pack please to exercise together at home.

- Just to say, we received the pack last week, its really good. The leaflet with the suggested exercises is really clear. I have a disability myself which limits my mobility, and so I have also been doing the exercises. Is there any chance I could have another pack so we can do this together?

- I was very pleased to receive my pack from SASP, I now have the sticker on my door and have being doing the exercises. Having the band to use has really helped, the exercise sheet is a good idea, I can do the exercises at my own pace. I was worried I would get stiff and lose mobility being confined to my bungalow, but having the focus of the exercises has given me a boost. Many thanks SASP, I intend to keep up with the exercises even after lockdown is over.

If you are an organisation whose clients could benefit from this scheme, we'd really like to hear from you, please get in contact with Joshua Culverhouse (SASP Older People Physical Activity Manager) jculverhouse@sasp.co.uk or call 07458 304294.
