Last week Sport England announced a Community Emergency Fund with the aim to help community sport and physical activity organisations who are experiencing short term financial hardship or the ceasing of operations due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
In response to this, Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership (SASP) hosted a webinar to support local clubs and organisations looking at both the Government and Sport England guidance for sports clubs about eligibility and access to funds to help mitigate against costs you maybe incurring around staff, other fixed overheads related to facilities and buildings or any other losses related to the pandemic.
Nearly 90 clubs and organisations joined the webinar live, listening to the information provided and having the opportunities to ask questions. Attendees were signposted to the dedicated SASP coronavirus website page for clubs and workforce, as well as the Facebook Group SASP Clubs, Coaches & Volunteers for additional support and guidance.
