Love To Pedal Testimonials and Feedback

SASP secured funding to support 54 care homes across Somerset with the Love to Pedal opportunity. Pedal cycles have been distributed far and wide across Somerset to provide residents with the chance to try something new, to increase their physical activity levels whilst perhaps sparking some happy memories from the rides they have completed.
Here are some of the lovely comments about Love to Pedal from Sunningdale Lodge, Yeovil.
SASP has received feedback on individuals who have taken part in the Love To Pedal six-week loan scheme.

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust have signed up to the national Reconditioning Games, encouraging staff and patients to move more to benefit their health and wellbeing within hospital settings.
SASP have offered some of their resources and programmes in support and here's an example of what's been achieved in Wincanton Community Hospital.
Pedal exercisers available through SASP's Love to Pedal scheme have been used on Hadspen Ward to get patients moving in a gentle, enjoyable and beneficial way. One patient (Ken) has asked for a pedal to be stored near him so he can use it again tomorrow. Most patients could only manage short periods to begin with but it gave them a sense of achievement. It also prompted conversations about cycling and reminiscing about cycle rides.
Quote from Sarah, Activities Co-ordinator - ''Having the pedals creates lots of opportunities for competition and a group cycle will add that sense of fun and enjoyment. I will continue to encourage their use, and I hope to get the music 'pumping' for a high energy group session once they have practised a bit more. Thank you for the donation.''
