About Swim England Level 1/2 Swim Teacher

We are looking for ASA Level 1 or 2 Qualified Swim teachers to join our swim school. We run our swim scheme 4 days a week, SASP Learn to Swim is a weekly term-time swim school which runs throughout the week after school Monday to Thursday 16:00-18:00. We also have a learn to swim programme in West Somerset which also runs term time on selected evenings of the week; Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 16:00–19:00, Saturdays mornings 09:00 -Midday at St Michaels First School and Thursday evenings 17:00-18:00 at Butlins Minehead Resort.

The swim school caters for all abilities, from beginner to stroke development and the pool is laid out in ability groups using the Swim England 'Learn to Swim' Framework. The Swim England Learn to Swim Framework is about developing confident and competent swimmers through fun and enjoyment, and Learn to Swim Stages 1-7 are at the heart of the programme. Each of the seven stages of the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework has a clear set of targets for the pupil to meet so they can get to the next stage. Our beginner classes also work towards the Swim England Duckling Awards 1, 2 and 3. Once children complete Stage 7, they have the opportunity to swim in our Academy group which is a pre-club development group working towards stroke technique and stamina. They also work towards Swim England Stage 8 and beyond.

You will be responsible for delivering group swim lesson under the supervision of the Swim School Co-ordinator. The sessions you will be required to attend may vary on a weekly basis. You will also have to travel between various areas of West Somerset.
