Walk Leader Training West Somerset

This course is for anyone interested to lead walks to boost their health and wellbeing, and that of their community.

You will learn about the incredible health benefits walking can bring, what makes a good Walk Leader, what checks and processes we have in place to ensure these are safe and well organised events, what support you get from your Area Coordinator at Somerset Health Walks, and about the incredible success of the Health Walks programme now and since it began.

If you love the outdoors, love walking and you would like to make a difference to your community, this course and the opportunity to become a Walk Leader within your local scheme is for you.

This course is to primarily train people to lead Health Walks within Somerset as part of Somerset Health Walks. We are happy to consider training individuals who will lead walks within another organisation in Somerset, but please contact us to discuss if this is your situation so we can discuss it with you prior to you attending the training. You cannot train with us if you are planning to lead outside of Somerset.

We will go on a health walk as part of the training so come dressed to go outside walking for maximum 30 minutes on the flat on pavement. Bring appropriate clothes for the weather forecast, such as a rain coat.
