Live Longer Better - More than Moving
A chance to explore loneliness and how physical activity can be part of the solution for ending loneliness in Somerset
We are delighted to have an excellent array of speakers again, to give us both national and local perspective.
Tom Burton, Sport England's National Partnerships Lead (Health and Inactivity) will kick off the proceedings giving a national flavour to Sport England investments and future priorities around this work. Tom has a broad portfolio and a real ability to bring the data to life. He also will be able to talk about future priorities for Sport England funding in this area of work.
We are also delighted to welcome Caroline Odjidja from Age UK Milton Keynes with their innovative Befriending Walks work which is also starting in Somerset with our Age UK soon.
As ever we will have a person centred approach with a service user voice and some local input from our social prescribers.
Our series of webinars with Age UKare designed to get us to think differently, see some of the data and insight that is in our sector and help connect us together to support a more active, less sedentary lifestyle for both us and the people we work with and / or support.
The morning will look at key insights from people in the 50 – 70 year age range and those 70+ as to how physical activity can help connect people, while also helping with physical health. These age ranges will often include a number of key transitions including children leaving home, retirement, becoming a grandparent etc.
The webinar will take place on Zoom. Register your place below.
The webinar is designed to be suitable for those working in adult health and social care settings including housing, charities as well as carers and micro providers.
