Judo is a fascinating Olympic sport. More than that, it is an art form. It is now practised in almost every country of the world. The British Judo Association is the National Governing Body for the sport of Judo in Great Britain as recognised by Sport England.
Somerset County Judo is a part of the Western Area Judo family that assist clubs within the County to provide opportunities for people to enjoy an activity which is more than just a sport. The benefits of practicing Judo are numerous to mention including, development of all aspects of physical fitness, the chance to develop new friendships through social interaction, with opportunities to become involved not only as a Judoka but also in a voluntary capacity, supporting like minded people through fulfilling a number of differing challenging roles to assist them in achieving their aspirations and full potential.
Judo is a sport for all regardless of age or level of ability, sessions are tailored to individual participants needs and everyone is supported on their journey of discovery.
