British Gymnastics is the National Governing Body for gymnastics. Participation in Gymnastics develops body awareness, strength, flexibility, control and co-ordination, which can be drawn upon during other physical activities, sports and in every day life.
Gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts combine athletic skill, balance and coordination to perform moves in various different disciplines.

British Gymnastics’ GymMark Scheme is the quality kite mark for gymnastics and trampoline clubs. It recognises the value and commitment made by its clubs in developing high quality and welcoming environments for its participants. The scheme asks clubs to look at the whole of its structures, including coaching and training, management, health and safety, and child protection issues.

The British Schools Association is a voluntary organisation affiliated to British Gymnastics. Its aim is to encourage the sport of gymnastics in schools, both as a curricular and an extra curricular activity.
An online community network has been established so schools can register free, enter information about their gymnastics activity and receive information and support in the form of a termly newsletter.
