Aimed at increasing and sustaining participation by young people aged 14 – 25 years in sport. www.sasp.co.uk


SASP – Coach development grants

SASP often has small sums of money that can be used to help gain recognised UKCC coaching qualifications at Level 1 and 2 although priority is given to Level 2. www.sasp.co.uk

Sport England – Small Grants

Aimed at increasing participation in sport by adults. More information can be found on the Sport England website. www.sportengland.org

£300 to £10,000

Sport England – Community Sport Activation Fund

Aimed at longer term (3 year) projects aimed at increasing participation in community sport in partnership with other providers. More information can be found on the Sport England website. www.sportengland.org

£50,000 to £250,000

Sedgemoor Community Health Grants

Promotion of community development and self-help. Help to develop new initiatives. Projects that improve access to community service for the disabled. Developing new opportunities for people to be involved in their community. Developing projects that provide activities for local people. This could be through targeting specific age groups such as young people or older people.

Up to £2,000

South Somerset District Council

Sport and recreation general funding. Rounders is not a priority sport so may not do well here but is better in the workplace health category.

Up to £6,000 (although this is unlikely for revenue projects)

Yarlington Housing Association

The Community Fund is available to assist with community projects, to engage with Housing Association communities and respond to their needs and aspirations. The fund is designed to help the neighbourhoods in which Yarlington work through the provision of community facilities and services. To be considered for funding, initiatives and projects must contribute to the improvement and development of communities.

Up to £20,000 although smaller grants under £1,000 are more common.

Somerset Community Foundation Grant

All successful projects will fit into at least one of the following themes: Supporting vulnerable and frail older people and their carers / Supporting communities affected by rural isolation and loneliness / Improving life opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults.

Up to £5,000

Co-op Community Fund

Community groups, voluntary groups, self-help groups, community charities and local branches of national charities are eligible to apply to The Co-operative Membership Community Fund. Grants can be used to fund anything from equipment to event costs, rent or fixtures and fittings, sport or computer equipment.

£100 - £2,000


Cash 4 Clubs is a sports fund aiming to support grassroots sports clubs all over the country. Very open criteria.

£250 - £1,000

Kellogg’s Active Living Fund

The Active Living Fund gives small grants to fund projects and activities that directly lead to people taking part in sustained physical activity. The aim of the fund is to help remove the "barriers" which stop people from being active.


Football Foundation

Aimed at football clubs for both small revenue bids as well as more substantial developmental projects.


Sport England – Inspired Facilities

Inspired Facilities is focused on making it easier for local community and volunteer groups to improve and refurbish sports clubs or transform non-sporting venues into modern grassroots sport facilities

Local Authority

Individual conversations with your local authority are worth having to ascertain if there is any 106 money or other funds available for your area and / or project. If you are unsure who to go to please contact SASP who will be able to direct you.


Football Foundation

The Football Foundation directs up to £40 million into grass roots sport every year. Please use their website for the details of all the programmes on offer. www.footballfoundation.org.uk
